Multipurpose bags from Nakhon Sri Thammarat cloth remnant made by fabric cutting techniques
Abstract
The study of Multipurpose bags brocade remnant from Nakhon Sri Thammarat made
by fabric cutting techniques has two main objectives. First, to understand the designs and
production processes and second, to understand customers/target market satisfaction toward
the bags. Three design samples are revealed to five design specialists. In addition, fifty target
market samples are asked to fill in a questionnaire, the results are in frequency, percentage
and mean.
The results found that the multipurpose bags brocade remnant from Nakorn Sri
Thammarat made by fabric cutting techniques that using a fragment, sew them together to
become a document bag and even a laptop hand carry bag. There are a highly potential of
these new products to generate more income to the village and for Arts and Crafts center at
Baan NernThummung to increase an employee rate by adding more value to the existing
products.
The questionnaire results found that the target market samples are highly satisfy with
4.65. The range from most satisfaction to least are as follow. The highest score with 4.98
interested in added value to the products. Second, the sample interested in recycle of
remnant with 4.94, third, the sizes for the bags with 4.90, forth, usage ability with 4.84, Fifth,
durability of the products with 4.76, sixth, shape stability with 4.74, seventh, neat cutting line
with 4.66, eighth, the cleanliness both outside and inside the bags with 4.62, ninth, neat
sewing line between fragments, neat seaming and multipurpose pockets inside the bags with
4.58, tenth, shape designs with 4.52, Eleventh, easy to use open-close ropes and the least
satisfaction is the color of the remnant is in harmony with 4.20.
