Bangkok Dwellers' Attitude and Satisfaction towards Media Campaign on Tobacco Cessation Employing Fear Appeals
Abstract
The objectives of the research titled ''Bangkok Dwellers' Attitude and Satisfaction towards Media Campaign on Tobacco Cessation Employing Fear Appeals"were to study:1) the media exposure behavior of Bangkokians towards quit smoking media campaign using fear appeals,2) the attitude of Bangkokians towards fear-bases quit smoking media campaign,3) the relationships among media exposure behavior,attitude,and satisfaction of Bangkokians towards fear appeal media campaign on quit smoking .
The research methodology was a mixed-method type, using survey research for quantitative study and in-depth interview study. In doing one-shot post-test survey questionnaire was distributed for collecting data from 400 Bangkokians randomly selected. In the part of in-depth interview,10 smokers with at least 1-year smoking experience residing in Bangkok area were picked as interviewees.seven of them were male and the rest were female.
