The main objective of this articipatory research was to study technology ransfer process for producing granule organic fertilizer in Nongkrathum community using qualitative and semi-experimental methodology. &#13;
The main instruments consisted of interview, questionnaire, and training. The samples and key informants were farmers and technology instructors. Data analysis and synthesis involved content and inductive analysis, fundamental statistical analysis, and Wilcoxon &#13;
Sign-Rank test. Results showed that the technology transfer process was divided into three stages: 1) Knowledge and persuasion stage, 2) Decision stage, and 3) Implementation stage which included 2 training sessions. Only eight of farmers could participate in both training sessions. &#13;
The total mean scores of satisfaction in technology were at moderate level ( =3.28) before training and very high level ( =4.25) after training. Regarding expectation of utilizing the technology before training, 62.5% of farmers had high expectation. However, 87.5% of the farmers had a very high expectation after training. &#13;
Comparison of expectations before and after training showed significant differences at the level of .05.

<title>Way of life and security in local southern food</title>

The purpose of this project is to study way of life and food security of people in the southern part of Thailand in terms of ability to use existing local resources for food, food processing, cooking, types of food, local cuisine, and food consumption culture. This research is both quantitative and qualitative. Research tools consisted of questionnaires, in-depth interviews, focus group, and participative observation. Quantitative data were statistically analyzed for frequency and percentage and qualitative data were analyzed with content analysis method. Results of the research show that, firstly, most of the local Southern people purchased food from market. Regarding consumption pattern, most local people usually eat 3 times a day. Food preservation and processing methods included drying, salt curing, pickling, fermentation, and smoking. In terms of problems and solutions in food management, southern people solved the problems by growing their own food plants or finding alternative food. Secondly, a variety of foods are available and these various types of food resources are regarded as culinary treasures which guarantee food security. Thirdly, food and food resources of local southern people could be accessed in 4 ways: planting, collecting from nature, purchasing, and sharing. Finally, for food utilization, local southern people managed their food and food resources by making use of their knowledge, talents, and skills in food resources management for use in their daily life, for producing and acquiring food, and for use as raw materials in making various utensils. Concerning attitude towards self-dependence, most southern people thought that they could depend on themselves for food.

The present study aims to examine individual factors that cause difference in perceptions of  academic contents presented in conference posters and graphic design factors that &#13;
affect attraction and comprehension of academic information. Both graphic desing factors and individual factors were tested to draw a set of guideline for appropriate poster and to &#13;
propose fonmns  of conference posters that can attract viewers and convey academic content. Data were collected from the Thailand Research Symposium Expo 2010 hosted by the &#13;
National Research committee. A team of research assistant had observed behaviors of 197 samples and 45 posters. Results showed  14 communicative factors and graphical design&#13;
attributes that affect affraction-informal  text tvpe, formal  text type, black tect on color background, color text on white background, transparent  text, density of content, one-column format,&#13;
large picturt,  color picture, graphic picture, line graph, diagram, text below picture, and light color background. The research also found that communicative factors and graphic design &#13;
caused caused certain behavior the sample group. These results could provide useful guideline for future academic poster designs.

This research aimed to study the concepts that readers attain from the story of Mahajanaka, composed by His Majesty King Bhumiblo Adulyadej, and how they are communicated to readers. The methodology&#13;
of analysis was discourse analysis, focusing on language and culture. From a deep reading of the work,it can be seen that its words and phrases were selected and arranged in an exalted and exquisite style to praise the&#13;
magical story of the Lord Buddha's previous birth. At the same time, the story is narrated in straightforward way to allow the younger genneration entry  into the work. Apart from this, certain content was adjusted to be of&#13;
greater benefit to Thai society. As for non-verbal language, illustrations were used to help tell the story and male it more interesting. In terms of culture, the examination of the work founf four areas  of impotr: religion reflecting &#13;
as a way of pure perseverance, sharp wisdom and complete physical health; kingship and governance, with regard to which for over fifty years king bhumibol has been on the throne and has shown devotion to the kingly virtues; the&#13;
economy and society, regarding which the author advises Thai people on how to live well during economic crisis and in society; and education, the work reflecting the value of education and institutes of learning for all.
