Assessing the achievement of cooperative education program faculty of science and technology

"The objectives of this research were 1) to study the environment of
cooperative education of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala
University of Technology Phra Nakorn, and 2) to study the achievement of this
cooperative education project towards the development of graduates competency in
the first semester of academic year 2012. The research methodology consisted of 2
stages. The first was to study the environment of the cooperative education from
both data sources of printed and electronic by comparing their content to the
standard of Thai Association for Cooperative Education. The second was to study the
achievement of this cooperative education project towards the development of
graduates competency by using questionnaires to survey opinions of all stakeholders
in this project of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of
Technology Phra Nakorn. Three sampling groups were from educational institutes,
enterprises and students. The number was 211 in total. Analyses applied included
social statistics particularly descriptive statistics which were number, percentage,
mean and standard deviation.
The most important findings are as follows:
1. With regard to the study the environment of cooperative education of the
Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra
Nakorn, it was found that it covered all 4 standards of Thai Association for
Cooperative Education; that is, 1) curriculum of cooperative education, 2) supervision
of cooperative education, 3) students of cooperative education and 4) assessment
and evaluation of cooperative education.
2. The study of stakeholders to the achievement of cooperative education of
the Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra
Nakorn shows that 1) educational institutes had a very positive attitude, 2)
enterprises an average attitude and 3) students a very positive attitude.
The obstacle affecting the achievement of cooperative education of the
Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra
Nakorn was that the university did not have the central to fully manage and support
cooperative education for all aspects such as resources, learning space, supplies,
human resources and most importantly IT managing system. Also there were
problems with correct knowledge towards cooperative education of enterprises and
that students did not receive any payment"
