Model of Educational Management for Developing Mass Communication Graduates in Digital Age
Abstract
The purposes of the study were 1) to synthesize the qualities of being mass communication officer in the digital age according to the views of advisors, 2) to synthesize the element and develop the forms of educational management to develop undergraduates to be mass communication officer in digital age according to the views of advisors, and 3) to examine the opinions of the undergraduates towards the forms of educational management that enhance the students in this field. The data was collected from 16 experts and 200 mass communication technology students. It was found that;
1. There were 19 qualities to become mass communication officer in the digital age which were multitasking, perception of all media contexts, cross-platform media, analysis thinking, critical thinking, creative thinking, writing, sensitivity towards learning, screening, communication skill, ability to adjust oneself well, self-learning, 13) learning passion, 14) morality and work ethics, 15) basic knowledge of mass communication, 16) interdisciplinary knowledge, 17) social responsibility, 18) integration and content management, and 19) technology utilization.
2. There were three main elements and 28 minor ones of educational management forms as follows:
2.1 curriculum: knowledge of mass communication, perception of media contexts, interdisciplinary knowledge, writing and communication skill, and the integration of contents.
2.2 learning management: analysis thinking development, critical thinking development, creative thinking development, communication skill, flexible learning, cooperative learning, action learning, experiential learning to build new paradigm, development of morals and work ethics, professional skills, integration and content management, media convergence and cross-platform media, nurturing of volunteering spirit and social responsibility, technology literacy skills, technical visits to mass communication organization.
2.3 Learning environment: sufficient equipment, updated technology, work space, sightseeing, activity corner, covered network and accessibility, news and information corner, and student work exhibition corner.
3. Study the opinions of the students towards the forms of educational management for developing undergraduates in mass communication technology. The three aspects consisting of curriculum, learning management, and learning environment were at high level in general.
