The study was aimed at 1) studying the operation of the professional group in the Bang Sa Community in Amphor Laem Singh, Chanthaburi Province, and 2) studying the factors that strengthen the professional development in the community. 3) guidelines that promote the strengthening of professional development for the community. The study applied the combination of the quantitative and qualitative research methods. The sampling subjects were the villagers who weave mats from kok plant or reed mats as their supplementary profession. They had not received any constructive professional development. The quantitative data collected were computerized into percentage, means, and standard deviation. The qualitative data were analyzed for content and subject matter. It was found that 1) the operation was done by the group of housewives who actively participated, consulting among each other and dividing the roles and responsibilities, such as planting reed, cutting reed, dyeing the raw material with organic substances, designing new patterns on reed fiber, and transforming the products. The operation was done based on the folk knowledge that had been passed from generation to generation without using modern technologies. 2) The factors that strengthen the professional development for the community are 2.1) the non-interest loan; 2.2) the experts who can help in designing a variety of fashionable products; 2.3) the sale distribution to distributors & shops or through the website; 2.4) the design of modern patterns that attracts consumers; 2.5) the advertising by the government in many platforms such as TV ads, radio ads, print ads in newspapers and magazines, and product trade exhibition (expo) or festivals like Muang Thong Thani Expo. 3.
