The Attitudes of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon Students about the Characteristics of ideal Graduate Students
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to comparatively study graduate students' ideal characteristics regarding learning, morality, self-discipline, and the future orientation selfcontrol
from the point of view of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon students. With descriptive research methodology, questionnaires were used to gather the data from the 297 forth-year students of the semester 1/2552 at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon. The data were analyzed by means of the computer program SPSS, statistical percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, f-test ,ane-Way ANOVA on 0.05 level of significance. The stud'i reveals that the most sampling group is the female students of Facuiry of Business Administration with the average GPA at approximately 2.00-2.50. With regard to the attitude about the characteristics of ideal graduate students: learning, morality, selfdiscipline, and the future orientation self-control, the students of Faculty of Mass Communication Technology e~press their opinions towards all the characteristics as high level, whereas those of Faculty of Home Economic Technology and Faculty of Industrial Education have the low-level ones. Taking each aspect into consideration, for that of learning, the students have high practical knowledge indicated by their application of the knowledge to everyday use, problem solution, and the distribution. Concerning the aspect of morality, they have high generosity indicated by their sincerity, friendl!ness, sympathy, and cooperation with friends to success. For the aspect of self-discipline, they highly discipline themselves indicated by their awareness of others' rights, unity, social rules, University regulations. Regarding the aspect of the future orientation self-control, they have high self-restraint. They do not do an immoral act; are wilting to wait providing that it will bring about advantages; and spend money appropriately and thoughtfully. The test on correlation between factors shows that the female have more correlation to all aspects than the male. In addition, the age of 2122 have more correlation to all aspects than the age of others
The recommendation is that, in order to bring about the graduate students with the mentioned characteristics, the university should find the way to equip the students with creativity, morality derived from a real situation, pride in being Thai, self-discipline, selfcontrol, self-confidence, and generosity to others. The university should realize the importance of these characteristics, improve along with support the students which witllead to the graduate students with the desirable characteristics.
