dc.description.abstract | The purposes of the study were to examine the quality of life of the motorcycle taxi drivers in Bangkok Metropolitan region and to investigate the development of the quality of life of the motorcycle taxi drivers in Bangkok Metropolitan region. The sample of the study, drawn by the method of stratified simple random sampling, consisted of 507 motorcycle taxi drivers in Bangkok Metropolitan region. The questionnaire was used as the data gathering tool. The statistics applied for data analysis consisted of Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Crosstabs, T-test, F-test at 0.05 level of significance.
The results of the study demonstrated that the majority of the motorcycle taxi drivers were male between 36-50 years old, completed secondary education, were married, lived in rentedhouses, earned average daily income of 200-400 Baht, earned average monthly income of 5,000-10,000 Baht, spent average monthly expenses of 5,001-10,000 Baht, earned their living as the motorcycle taxi drivers for 3-5 years, had white vehicle registration plates, and drove motorcycle taxis in Bangkok area.
The study of opinion concerning the quality of life revealed that the motorcycle taxi drivers in Bangkok Metropolitan region expressed their opinion on overall aspects of quality of life at a high level, Mean =3.72. When each aspect of the quality of life was examined, it was found that safety aspect was at a highest level, next below were the aspects of work life, spirit and soul, participation, family life, health, and communication. According to the aspects of income and environment, the study showed a moderate level of opinion respectively, however, the aspects of housing and education were found at a high level. With regard to the opinion on the development of quality of life, the motorcycle taxi drivers had a moderate level of opinion, Mean=3.21. | en_US |
